Faculty and staff are the University's greatest resource. Supporting the success and safeguarding the well-being of all employees remains the highest priority and will be accomplished by doing the following.
Provide training on health and safety practices and requirements related to COVID-19.
On July 1, 2020, Environmental Health and Safety, University Marketing and Communications and Human Resources released three separate training videos (face coverings, gloves and handwashing) for all faculty and staff to review before their return to work.
Continue practices that reflect the most current guidance for individuals to request reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by contacting the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (OEOA) or request a leave of absence from Human Resources.
Human Resources (HR) and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (OEOA) continue to work together to review accommodation requests related to COVID-19.
HR modified the timing on the Redbird Return Plan to align with the updated guidelines from the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan.
Staff scheduled to return on June 8 were delayed until June 15.
Authorization was given to extend the duration of Temporary Work from Home agreements from an original end date of August 3, 2020, to a revised end date of December 31, 2020.
Offer guidance to employees affected by COVID-19.
This is an ongoing, daily effort by staff within Human Resources; responding to emails and phone calls from faculty and staff with questions and concerns related to COVID-19 through normal channels as well as through the email@example.com.
Provide guidance to supervisors who have employees affected by COVID-19.
This is an ongoing, daily effort by staff within Human Resources; responding to emails and phone calls from supervisors with questions and concerns related to COVID-19 as well as through firstname.lastname@example.org.
Continue current practices related to the hiring process (testing, interviews, searches)
Staff continue to post and fill positions as authorized across campus.
In an effort to improve the hiring experience for the campus and the applicant, Human Resources moved the ISU Jobs page from its previous PeopleAdmin location to a new resource supported by PageUp on July 1. As explained in multiple messages to the campus community, this move provides:
Cost savings to the University annually from our previous system
A mobile-friendly platform which is more inclusive with universal design for applicants
Single sign-on capability for ISU faculty/staff for position description maintenance and recruiting
